Copenhagen: Planning my Trip

Image
Hallo Prachtige Mensen!   After getting back from Poland last month, I had severe holiday blues, so decided to book another long weekend with some friends. After lots of debating we finally decided on Copenhagen as our destination. I've never been before and have been dabbling in a little research in order to plan my trip. Now, I'm not normally the most organised of travellers, so all this planning malarkey is new to me. I normally like to wing it when I arrive somewhere and discover things on my own or through recommendations. In an attempt to be prepared and make the most out of my trip I've decided to put together a list of things to see and do whilst I'm in the city. Then hopefully, when I arrive back from my trip, I'll have a fully packed blog post detailing all my adventures!

The London List: Drinking

Image
Hello Wonderful People! This instalment of The London List: Drinking is rather jam packed. Despite trying to save money and drink less during the week, I've somehow managed to visit a fair few places recently. However, as I love exploring new places to drink and suffer from serious FOMO, I'm not too fussed that I've failed in my attempt to save both money and my liver. You can't drink when your dead, that's what I say.

My Skiing Wish List

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I'm going skiing in less than a week and I'm SUPER EXCITED. There's 26 of us going and we've hired out 3 chalets, so it's going to be a pretty epic holiday. I've not been skiing in nearly 2 years, and the last time I went was only for a day when I was in New Zealand. So I'm now counting down the days till I'm back on the slopes. We are planning on hiring retro ski outfits on one of the days for fancy dress on the slopes. So if you happen to be in Les Gets in France during the first week of March and see 26 brightly coloured people skiing in a line; that'll probably be me and my friends. I've pretty much got my ski wear sorted. I've treated myself to a new ski jacket and have dug out my old salopettes and ski accessorise, so I'm all ready for the slopes. However, I've decided I need lots of new clothes for my time off the slopes. Jumpers, hats, boots or anything warm and snuggly. Any excuse to go shopping, eh

50 Shades of Grey: The Premiere

Image
Hello Wonderful People! On Thursday evening I was lucky enough to attend the 50 Shades of Grey film premiere in Leicester Square. I've never actually read the books, but considering how much publicity they've had over the past few years, plus all the hype surrounding the film, I had a pretty good idea of the plot and general shenanigans of the story.

The Downsides to Living in London

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I bloody love London. Moving here was possibly the best decision I've made (bar travelling, OBVS). There's just so much to love about this city, especially if (like me) you're constantly looking for something new and exciting to do or explore. Before living in London I definitely had an idealised view of life in the capital. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't completely unrealistic. I didn't expect to merrily prance around the tube every morning, singing with joy about how much I loved my commute. And I really didn't expect to be living in the lap of luxury in a penthouse apartment overlooking the Thames. However, a little part of me really did think I'd enjoy my commute, LOLZ. After all, it would be such a novelty and really cool yeah? I also thought that London rent prices couldn't possibly be as bad as everyone said. Surely no one would voluntarily pay £750 a month for one small bedroom in a grotty flat? However, after 5 month

The London List: Drinking

Hello Wonderful People! It's safe to say I like a drink. Actually, scratch that, I love a drink. Or 2. Or 7. Whatever, who's counting anyway? While I have my favourite bar, that is conveniently just round the corner from work, I've also managed to discover a few more watering holes to grace my presence with. I also need to stop going up the Shard for a casual drink. I can't bloody afford £8 for a glass of wine. But I'm a sucker for a view, and the Shard has a cracking one.

The London List: Eating

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I've managed to eat my way round a few more places in our wonderful capital and have a few more eateries to share with you! Now, I'm trying my best at the moment to cut down on spending the dollar, but it doesn't seem to be going too well. You see, I suffer from a sever case of FOMO (fear of missing out, for those not in the know) and I just can't bare to miss out on things. Especially when food is involved. NOM.

The London List: Sightseeing

Image
Hello Wonderful People   I've now been living in London for 5 months, and it's gone by in a flash. It's one of those funny time scales where I feel like I've been in London forever, yet also seems like the time has gone by at lightning speed. I've managed to do a bit more exploring since my last sightseeing post, but I've also managed to add to my list of places I'd still like to visit! Watch this space!
