The 5 Stages of Every Plane Journey

Image
Hello Wonderful People! Going on a plane is normally pretty exciting, no matter how many times you’ve been on one, as it usually means you’re off on holiday! Now, this may just be me but no matter how long, or short, the plane journey is I always go through the same emotional roller coaster. Sadly, I've only ever flown in economy class, so I don’t know if those lucky business class fliers (damn you) will have the same thought process. However, anyone who’s traveled in cattle class will surely understand each and every one of these stages.

Next Stop South America: My Backpack Wish List

Image
Hello Wonderful People! You know what they say, no good story started with 'I stayed at home'. With this in mind, I have now taken the plunge and booked my flights to Rio De Janeiro for a spot of South American travelling. On the 22nd May (that's one month today, huzzzzah) I will be heading to Brazil and I'll have one month to get myself to Lima, Peru for my flight home!

My Travelling Wish List

Image
Hello Wonderful People! There are so many places I want to visit (and revisit) in the world, so I’m setting myself a wish list with the aim of ticking off all 5 of these places in the next 5 years. As I’m heading to South America next month I’m not going to include any of those countries as I’ll be visiting them soon enough! I think I’m going to have to do a lot of saving to visit all these places in the next few years, but I love a challenge and I don’t want to disappoint my wanderlust.

5 Reasons to Visit the UK

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I've written many a post about all the different places I've visited around the world, but I've never written about my beautiful home country. So, I'm going to venture into the unknown (yet very familiar) and write a few posts about the good old UK. To start off my UK themed posts, I'm going to tempt you all with 5 very good reasons as to why you should visit my home country!

Throwback: Yachting in Croatia

Image
Helo divni ljudi One of my all time favourite family holidays was when we hired a yacht with some family friends and sailed around the coast of Croatia. Sadly, none of us were pro sailors so we also hired a local skipper for the week. This was fantastic as he knew all the best places to go, took us to some beautiful islands and managed to keep us all alive on our boating adventure. Living with 9 other people in a confined space was actually surprisingly bearable and living on the yacht gave me an amazing sense of freedom. As I'd never been to Croatia before, I didn't really know what to expect. However, the Croatian coast line was so stunning with beautiful islands and crystal clear water, I felt like I was in the Caribbean, not Europe.

Top 5 Things to do in New Zealand

Image
Hello Wonderful People! New Zealand is a pretty amazing place. There is SO much to do here, it really is impossible to say what you should and shouldn't see. I was only there for a month and managed to pack in a lot of stuff, but there's still so much more I could have done! For those who may be visiting New Zealand, and don't have lots of time on their hands, I've tried (and it was a toughie) to pick out my 5 favourite things that I think everyone must see or do in this beautiful country.

Lake Tekapo

Image
Hello Wonderful People! Our last stop in New Zealand, before dropping the van off in Christchurch and making our way back to Auckland (to take our long flight back to the UK, boo), was Lake Tekapo. We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful day, but even in bad weather I can't imagine the lake would look any less magnificent.

Queenstown: The Party Capital of New Zealand

Image
Hello Wonderful People! Queenstown, from all the rumours I’d heard, was supposed to be the best place in New Zealand. Not only is it the adrenaline capital of the Southern Hemisphere, it’s also supposed to be the best night out in New Zealand.   As I’d heard so many great things about Queenstown, my expectations were sky high. No pressure then. My first impressions were mixed; it was a lot smaller than I imagined with a population of around 15,000 it was only marginally bigger than my very small home town. How could somewhere this tiny have such an awesome reputation? However, the town is situated on a lake, completely surrounded by mountains, so the location is pretty beautiful. Did this picturesque lakeside town live up to its hard-core party reputation, or was it a massive let down?
