A Trip To The Shire

Image
Hello Wonderful People!   Warning: contains strong elements of  Geek. To call myself a Lord of the Rings nerd is a slight understatement. I love the books and am absolutely obsessed with the films. I could probably quote around 85% of all three films, with the (completely unintended) innuendos being my fave: 'is that an Orc horn?' and 'take it Gandalf, take it!' Tehehehehe. Immature quotes aside, the thought of going to visit Hobbiton, the set of the Shire, actually filled me with childish excitement. If I'm honest, it was probably the highlight of my whole New Zealand trip.

New Zealand: The Road Trip of a Lifetime

Image
Hello Wonderful People!     The final stop on my 2013 backpacking tour was the stunning New Zealand. I can't strictly say I backpacked around this country, like I did the others, as myself and 3 other friends hired a campervan and went on one epic month long road trip. We could have opted for the Kiwi-Experience, a popular hop-on-hop-off coach tour for backpackers, but we went for the campervan as it gave us so much more freedom and was pretty cheap.  We hired a 4 berth Britz campervan ( check out our bad-boy here) and headed out on the open road from Auckland with only a trust sat-nav to guide us.

A Cheeky Trip to Budapest

Szia C sodálatos Emberek   My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip away rather than get each other Christmas presents, and our chosen destination was Budapest. I'd heard great things about the city and it also seemed to be a really cheap destination to visit. We were initially going to go to somewhere in the UK, with Edinburgh being our top choice. However, after finding some cheap flights (£60 return) to Budapest with Ryanair it seemed like a no brainer to head to Hungary. I was shocked to discover how cheap the accommodation was, we stayed in a four star apartment for 2 nights, right in the centre for just under £30 each! Quite the bargain if I do say so myself (check out our accommodation here )! The location was perfect, we were within walking distance of so many bars, cafes and restaurants as well as the main metro station. The whole trip cost me £190, including transport, accommodation and spending money; not too shabby for thoroughly a European city break!

Throwback: Whale Watching in Canada

Hello Wonderful People! I've decided to jump on the Throwback Thursday band wagon and do a regular throwback feature on holidays from when I was a wee kiddy winkle. I was lucky enough to visit some amazing places with my parents and experienced so many different things. So I thought it would be a great idea to start sharing these memories with y'all. So today's throwback is about one of the standout moments of my life, when I went whale watching just off the coast of Vancouver Island. It truly was an awe inspiring experience and still gives me goose bumps when I think about it.

Top 5 Things You Don't Realise Will Happen to You While Travelling

Hello Wonderful People! There are many things that you expect will happen to yourself while travelling; you'll get a cracking tan, make loads of new friends and totally discover who you really are (lolz). However, there are also a fair few things that happened while I was travelling that I wasn't expecting...

Hello Wonderful People! Here are a few of my photographs from my time travelling the East Coast of Aus! Starting in Melbourne and seeing Great Ocean Road, I headed to Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Noosa and Agnes Water/ 1770.  So have a gander at my miss-matched pictures and fell free to be extremely jealous!
