The London List: Drinking

Image
Hello Wonderful People! There are so many places to go for a drink in London, it's actually pretty ridiculous. On pretty much every corner there's a cute little old school pub, fancy cocktail bars line many streets and the amount of nightclubs is staggering. However, I'm more interested in finding the more unique, hidden bars that London has to offer.

My Travel Inspired Christmas Wish List

Image
Hello Wonderful People! As it's nearly Christmas, one month today to be precise, and in the hope that Santa (and my parents, wink, wink) read this blog, I thought I'd put together a little travel inspired wish list of gifts I'd like to find under the tree this Christmas. Plane tickets may be a tad too much to ask for (I can dream), but these items are all super cute, and would settle my wanderlust cravings for the festive period. If you haven't guessed already, I really like maps.

The London List: Sightseeing

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I've now been living in London for 3 months and am absolutely loving it! Well, if you minus the soul sucking, life crushing, hell hole of a daily commute then life in London is pretty awesome. There is just so much to do here; sight seeing, bars, restaurants, markets, landmarks, history, shops. You name it, London's got it! Over the years I've probably visited the majority of London's major tourist attractions, but there are a few I'd love to visit again. As I love a good list (how else are you supposed to organise your life?!) I've started to created a few to list some of the best places I've been to and some places I aim to see in the future. The first item on my London List agenda: Sightseeing.

Travelling Through the Eyes of Instagram

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I'm by no means a great photographer. Sure I love to take photos, am I good at it? Not really. Are my photos usually blurry/ wonky/ have a finger in the top corner? You bet. This is where my good old friend Instagram comes into play. This magical little app makes me look like a shit-hot professional who knows what they're doing. I'm happy to admit that I'm a complete Istagram addict, I bloody love the thing! And as a result, I use it to make loads of my travel pictures look super amazing. Here's a selection of some of my favourites. And if you fancy having a stalk at the rest, check out my Instagram page: Katienelson_x

3 Places I Wouldn't Revisit (Sorry Not Sorry)

Image
Hello Wonderful People! Ever heard of the phrase been there, done that, got the t-shirt ? Of course you have! Well, I feel this phrase sums up some of the less-interesting places I've been to. Don't get me wrong, I love visiting somewhere new and discovering all it has to offer, but sometimes, there aint that much there. And it aint that great. There aren't that many places I've been to on my travels that haven't inspired me to go back one day, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Well, 3 to be precise. I'll get an apology out of the way now.. I'm sorry if one of your all time favourite places is on this list! Travel is different for everyone and so many different things can influence you opinion and enjoyment of a place. Sadly, for me, these places just didn't float my boat. And while it's nice to say I've been (and got the proverbial t-shirt), I won't be going back in a hurry. Cuff me.

My Marrakech Recommendations

Image
مرحبا شعب رائع Marrakech has been on my 'must visit' list for a while now, and my trip there definitely didn't disappoint! In fact, I loved it so much that I've already planned an itinerary for the next time I visit! Yes, there will be a next time! I went for 4 nights, which gave us the perfect amount of time to explore without feeling too rushed. The weather was also amazing, a cool 37 degree every day, which is apparently mega hot for this time of year! It was also pretty cheap and I only spent just over  £100 during the holiday, and considering we ate out twice a day and went on a day trip, I think that's pretty good going!
