The London List: Drinking

Hello Wonderful People!

It's safe to say I like a drink. Actually, scratch that, I love a drink. Or 2. Or 7. Whatever, who's counting anyway? While I have my favourite bar, that is conveniently just round the corner from work, I've also managed to discover a few more watering holes to grace my presence with. I also need to stop going up the Shard for a casual drink. I can't bloody afford £8 for a glass of wine. But I'm a sucker for a view, and the Shard has a cracking one.

Highlights:

Grace Bar
This is a nice bar in Soho where I went for my work Christmas party. There are cute little function rooms, a large main bar area and a club downstairs. Prices aren't too shabby, especially if you hit up happy hour for cocktails.

BYOC
I've been wanting to visit this bar for SO LONG. My mum and some friends came down this weekend and we booked to go to the Camden BYOC weeks ago, as it's so popular and the Covent Garden branch had already sold out! My evening here didn't disappoint. The interior has a speakeasy, 1920s prohibition theme and you are made and served the most  amazing cocktails by your own cocktail specialist. I can't wait to go back for another visit!

The Champion
My friend introduced me to this pub, located just off Oxford Street. It's a typical London pub and has the most amazing stained glass windows. Plus it's very reasonable for central London. I got a round of 2 pints and a glass of wine for just under a tenner. Bargain.

The Sylvan Post
This bar-come-pub is one of my locals and does an absolutely cracking pub quiz! It's super popular and to date my housemates and I have come last every time. But who cares, when you can play a game of 'higher or lower' at the end of the quiz for a cash prize?! Sadly, our raffle ticket has never been drawn from the hat, but I've witnessed people win £1k IN CASH. Madness.
