Get The Best From Barcelona

Hello Wonderful People!

Barcelona is simply one of those magnetic cities. It doesn’t even seem to matter when you go or what time of year you visit. The place is simply an extraordinary sensuous experience. In fact, there is so much to do, see and take in that you might come here a hundred times and never get enough. Barcelona is one of the most unique and vibrant cities on the planet. Here are some ways to go about getting the most from your next trip.

Architecture
Has there even been an artistic vision to equal that of Gaudi? Although he died in 1926, his mark is all over the city. The incredulous Sagrada Familia, which is still incomplete, but none the less impressive was started in 1880! It is one of the most iconic and breath-taking buildings in the world. You are simply dwarfed by the immensity and beauty of the place.

There are finger and footprints of Gaudi all through the city, and much of Barcelona's unique vision comes down to this man. Not everyone was as visionary. Locals who lived around the Casa Mila, complained that the building would drag down property prices. It is now respected as one of the most incredible examples of modernist architecture in the world.

No trip would be complete without a visit Parc Guell where Gaudi himself lived for a while. Wander through the swirling buildings and colourful mosaics high above the town. You can visit the Gaudi Museum here. From the hills behind and from Parc Guell down to the sea the city is laid out before you.

Atmosphere
It can be difficult to decide what to include when you are planning a trip to Barcelona. Do you want to make the most of the nightlife? Perhaps you want to sample some of the best restaurants and historic cafes. There are museums galore and, of course, the chance to pay homage to Picasso, Miro and other iconic Spanish artists. Walking and sightseeing tours in Barcelona are some of the best ways to explore and see the city. For example, you’ll discover the gems in the Gothic Quarter that is essentially a pedestrianized area. Here you can wander through tiny streets surrounded by stunning churches and ancient architecture. Here Roman mixes with the Middle Ages. There are tiny boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. Get your fill of delicious tapas on sale in any of the bars and a Spanish speciality. Wash down with a cool beer or a glass of Cava.

Getting around the city from Las Ramblas to the sea at Sant Marti, where you’ll find popular beaches, is easy. Head up to Tibidabo Hill for the vintage and iconic fairground. The aquarium in the city is world class. The hop on, hop off bus will take you all around, and it's a great way to experience the city and see many of the sights that make Barcelona so alluring. Above all Barcelona loves life, and this is a vibrantly colourful and stunning city you will want to come back to again and again.
