Glastonbury: Heaven on a Farm

Hello Wonderful People!

I've done it! I've (just about) managed to survive my 7th Glastonbury. This year was a real struggle, and possibly the most crazy and sleep deprived of them all. I'm seriously suffering from the post-Glasto blues and have been living and working in a little depressed bubble. I hope writing this post will give me time to reflect on my amazing week at Worthy Farm, and help me come to terms with the fact it's all over for another year. Sob.

The is literally so much to do at Glastonbury. you could happily go to the festival and not see a single band or artist for the whole week, and still have the most amazing time. The festival is so huge, that it can be a real struggle to decide where to go and what to see. However, I have a few firm favourites that I like to squeeze in every year.

The Park
This is my favourite area of the festival. It's got a super chilled out vibe, loads of great food stalls and the infamous Glastonbury sign perched atop the hill. No Glastonbury is complete without a trek to the top of the hill to take in the wonderful sights of the whole festival in all its glory.

The Stone Circle
This is a great place to head after a crazy night out in the south east corner to watch the sunset and calm down before you go back to your tent in search of sleep. You'll find all sorts of characters hanging out at the Stone Circle, especially in the early hours of the morning. The Stone Circle is a Glastonbury Mecca, and is a must visit for all festival goers.

Shangri-La
This place is literally crackers. If you want to lose your shit, or watch other people lose their shit, then head to the south east corner at around 4am to watch the madness go down. Be warned though, you'll enter Shangri-La as a normal person, but it can't be guaranteed you'll leave in the same state.

West Holts
This is the perfect place to go when the sun is shining and you need to escape from the madness of it all. Grab a pint of cider from the Brothers Bar and chill on the grass, it's an awesome little area of the festival.

Block 9
This area is awesome for a night out. The sheer scale of some of the temporary buildings is pretty impressive, considering you're in a field in the middle of rural Somerset. One of the clubs only allows you in if you're wearing a fake moustache. Another building has half of a tube carriage crashing through it.
