Three Unconventional European Trips

Hello Wonderful People

When people go to Europe, they always think of the same places. London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Rome. The capital cities of the so-called main European cities. There’s more to Europe than that though. Europe has so much more to offer than manufactured tourist experiences.

If you really want to see the world don’t let yourself get drawn into the same old spots. Be bold, see new sights. Don’t allow yourself to be just ordinary with your travel plans. There’s a whole other Europe waiting for you. If you want to travel, you have to make it count.

Liverpool - England
While it does see a tremendous amount of Beatles tourism, Liverpool has a whole lot more to show you. As the Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool is a city with a lot of fine cultural spots. Places like the World Museum and the Walker Art Gallery only serve this idea. Not only that, but Liverpool also hosts the International Slavery Museum.

Still, you can’t go to Liverpool without seeing something Beatles related. There are many Beatles related activities and tours out there. If you’re a fan of the band, you’re going to be well served. Liverpool also has a number of great shopping districts and eateries. If you’re a fan of the theatre too, why not book yourself in for a matinee performance of Liverpool’s greatest play, Blood Brothers?

Reykjavik - Iceland
When people think of Iceland all they think of are snowy frozen wastes. What they don’t know is that couldn’t be further from the truth. Amazing Iceland features the coastal capital of Reykjavik. The name may be hard to spell, but it’s one great place to be.

It’s a place of history, culture, and contemporary hotspots. If you fancy yourself a history buff you can go take yourself to the National Museum where you can see artefacts dating all the way back to the age of the first settlers in Iceland.

There’s also the Saga Museum, a more visceral historical experience where you get to see the history of the Vikings unfold. Of course, if you want a little more action in your holiday, how about white water rafting?

Iceland is Europe’s greatest secret.

Riga - Latvia
Eastern Europe’s party city. Any Latvian will tell you that Riga is all about having a good time. It’s a city with a lot of bars and clubs. If long nights of drinking, music, and dancing are your idea of fun this is the place for you.

Even if those aren’t to your tastes, Latvia’s rich culture and history in both the pre and post World War 2 eras are clear to see. Riga Castle and the Freedom Monument are clear contrasts between the new and the old, though the Freedom Monument is nearly a century old.

Europe shouldn’t just have to be the classics. It’s a whole continent, with each country being so much more different than the last. Exploring Europe should be just that, about exploring. Don’t be boring with your travel plans, try something unconventional for once in your life.
