Riga: Planning My Trip

Image
Hello Wonderful People I'm currently suffering from a serious bout of the post-holiday blues as I returned from my annual ski trip last week. As usual it was awesome, and being back in rainy London isn't quite as appealing as the Italian Alps. Funnily enough. However, Easter is nearly upon us (I can't quite believe this though, I'm sure Christmas was only 2 weeks ago?!) and this can only mean one thing.. 4 DAY WEEKEND! And chocolate, obviously. So, what better way to get over the holiday blues and make the most of 4 days off work? Go on another trip of course!! The destination? Latvia's lovely capital - Riga.

How To Turn Your Love Of Travel Into A Career

Image
Hello Wonderful People! Wouldn't it be great if we travel junkies could somehow make our expensive, but wonderful passion work for us? Well, it looks as if our prayers may finally have been answered. What am I talking about I hear you ask? Travelling isn't a job! That's true, it's not, but travelling abroad can be made part of a job. Specifically, part of an internship. If you've got a dream career in mind, then, as we all know, internships are a good way of getting your foot in the door of your chosen industry. Now you can get on an internship in your chosen field and travel at the same time.

The London List: Sightseeing

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I've now been living in London for nearly 18 months and I feel like I'm stuck in this strange limbo. Half the time I still feel like a tourist in awe of this awesome city, and the other half of the time I'm rushing round with my head down, eager to get home. While it's nice to start feeling truly at home in this vast city, I don't want to slip into a routine where I take where I live for granted. In the past few months I've been guilty of falling into this routine; I went to work, went home, watched TV, went out in Brixton at the weekend, felt sorry for myself on a Sunday then back to work on Monday. Repeat, repeat, repeat. After realising what a boring fool I was becoming, I actually started doing and seeing things again! Surprisingly enough I was spoilt for choice.. so here are a few things I've done this month that I'd recommend.

5 Places I Want to Visit in Eastern Europe

Image
Hello Wonderful People! I've been lucky enough to have explored the majority of Western Europe, but I've only been to a handful of Eastern European countries and this needs to change. With plans to go inter-railing around Eastern Europe this summer I have come up with a few must see places that I need to tick off on my trip!

How To Keep In Touch With A Travelling Friend

Image
Hello Wonderful People If one of your friends has gone traveling, you may find it hard to maintain contact with them. “Stay in touch” is something almost all of us say when waving farewell to a friend. You might have both been sincere when you said goodbye, but it can be horribly easy to slip out of touch when you don’t see your friend regularly. Here are some tips for staying in touch with your friends. Source

Barcelona

Hello Wonderful People When it comes to travel, I usually like to stick to one rule: don't revisit the same places as there are so many new destinations to be discovered and explored. However, rules are there to be bent and broken and last weekend I went back to Barcelona for the first time in 12 years. Now, 12 years is a long time (nearly half of my life to be precise), so I think I can be forgiven for revisiting this wonderful city.
